AustBrokers Comsure CLAIMS Update

Dec 16, 2014

The storm that swept across South East Queensland on the 27/11/2014 caused significant damage to property and motor vehicles.

Over the past few days, AustBrokers Comsure has been handling high volumes of claims. To support our clients, our dedicated claims team have been working additional hours to handle the increase in the volume of calls.

All of our staff remain in place to continue to provide prompt assistance and to manage our clients claims.

PLEASE NOTE:

HOME AND BUILDING GLASS

As you can imagine, the severity of this storm event has caused an extraordinary level of enquiry for both job bookings and make-safes. When the storm initially occurred, medical facilities, dangerous or life threatening scenarios and premises where we deemed that urgent repairs were required were prioritised. All other jobs will be completed in a timely fashion as possible.
We are seeing a very high proportion of older “Queenslander” design homes, containing wooden frame windows that are above ground level and requiring multiple panels to be replaced. Whilst wooden frames and working at heights adds some level of additional complexity, there are also many instances where the windows contain louvers and Australian Standards specify that these require toughening which adds additional time to order and rectify. In addition, many security and fly screens need replacement, however glass and glazing work is being prioritised to ensure homes are secure and not exposed to the elements.
