We know and understand that any incident leading to an insurance claim can be challenging. Therefore when a claim occurs, our dedicated claims team knows you want the process to be effortless, effective and efficient.

We are here to work with you to deliver both on our promise, and to work with your insurer to achieve the best claims service and outcome possible for you. We manage the entire process from lodgement to through to settlement, to maximise your entitlement.


Our Claims team pride themselves on their ability to deliver a supportive, proactive and outstanding experience. With over 50 years of extensive insurance and claims handling knowledge, our team is adept at assisting with the process of a claim, liaising with insurers on your behalf and keeping you updated throughout the entire process.


When overseeing a claim on your behalf with an Insurer, we will endeavour to achieve the best possible settlement outcome. We will seek full entitlement on your behalf according to the policy conditions and limits.


When the need arises for a claim to be lodged on your Insurance policy, Austbrokers Comsure has a full-time and dedicated claims team that will handle the claim process from start to finish on your behalf. They will liaise with Insurers and keep you up to date throughout the entire process. We take the worry away.

Lodging a Claim

Take photos when an incident occurs.
  • For Home
    Damaged item/s: Very important, especially if you need to throw the item away – e.g. Food Spoilage.

  • For Motor
    Damage to your vehicle and any other involved.
    Location of the accident, including line markings, signage or traffic lights.
    Photos of your driver’s licence (front and back), including any other vehicle’s drivers licence if there’s a third party involved.

  • 1. If damage or loss of property occurs:
    • Ensure the remainder of your property is not exposed to further loss or damage.
    • Immediately contact Austbrokers Comsure Insurance Brokers.
    • If the loss is a result of burglary, theft or malicious damage notify your nearest police station immediately.
    • Obtain quotes for the repair and/or replacement of the damaged or lost property.
    • If a major loss occurs, your insurer will appoint an assessor to inspect the damage and authorise repairs or replacement. In the meantime, do not dispose of any salvage without authorisation from your insurer or the assessor appointed to act on their behalf.

    2. If a claim is made by a third party:
    • Ask the third party to submit their claim in writing.
    • Immediately contact Austbrokers Comsure.
    • Forward all documentation received to Austbrokers Comsure.

    3. If damage is sustained by insured motor vehicles:
    • Immediately contact Austbrokers Comsure as some insurers allow telephone lodgement of motor vehicle claims.
    • If you have a preferred repairer, obtain a quote for repairs, otherwise, contact Austbrokers Comsure for the names of insurer-recommended repairers in your area.
    • For claims lodged via Austbrokers Comsure’s office, please forward all documentation, including the claim form to us.
